The Summer Solstice is a time to celebrate Midsummer in honor of the longest day of the year and a return to the light. It’s a time to welcome early dawns, the warm days and evenings, and the growing fruitfulness of the Earth. A time to open our hearts and our minds, allow our bodies to soak up the renewing energy of the sun, and to feel gratitude for all that life gives us.
To honor this significant astronomical event, our community will come together for a live, no-charge, 45-minute gathering led by Philip Carr-Gomm.
You will be guided in a collective meditation set on a beach at sunrise and opening to a sense of abundance and gratitude that is designed to leave you feeling energetic, joyful and optimistic about the months ahead.
We are going to start and end with a special mix of music provided by the record producer and DJ, Youth from the world-renowned band Killing Joke, who has created a unique soundscape that includes a history of psychedelic music for our event.
“In the Druid tradition, this time is celebrated and honoured with three rites: A midnight vigil on Midsummer’s Eve, a dawn ceremony to welcome the solstice sun, and a ritual at noon to anchor this day in our hearts and minds. During this special event, we will offer you an experience of the spirit of these sacred celebrations in a guided journey that draws its inspiration from a number of sources.” — Philip Carr-Gomm
