As psychedelics become increasingly accessible, there is a growing demand for skilled and well-educated practitioners who can navigate the complex landscape of this emerging field responsibly, ethically, and safely.
Through our partnership, you can pursue an advanced degree in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care by successfully completing The Synthesis Institute's comprehensive digital and experiential training programs, available through two distinct pathways, alongside Ubiquity University's coursework and dissertation writing.
Two Pathways towards a Degree
Students may pursue their degree through either our international program or our Colorado licensure pathway, designed to meet the regulatory requirements for legal practice in Colorado. Both pathways fulfill the Synthesis Institute’s program requirements for the degree.
Track 1 — International Path
- The Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Core Training (13 months)
- At least one Synthesis Immersion retreat (Level 1 or Level 2, depending on prior experience)
- The Synthesis Practicum program (12 months)
Track 2 — Colorado Path
- The Synthesis Psychedelic Practitioner Core Training (13 months) with the Colorado module add-on
- The Colorado Practicum
- The Consultation/Supervision program
The Path to a Master of Arts (MA) or Doctorate (PhD) in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care
To earn a Master of Arts (MA) in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care, students must complete the following:
Step 1 — Synthesis Institute Training: Choose either Track 1 (International Path) or Track 2 (Colorado Path) as outlined above.
Step 2 — Ubiquity University Coursework
- "Creative Journey to Dissertation" coursework (4 credits)
- Dissertation Writing phase with Advisor (10 credits)
The Path to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care
To earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care, students must complete the following:
Step 1 — Synthesis Institute Training: Choose either Track 1 (International Path) or Track 2 (Colorado Path) as outlined above.
Step 2 — Ubiquity University Coursework
- "Creative Journey to Dissertation" coursework (4 credits)
- Core Course: Great Books (3 credits)
- Chartres Academy Pilgrimage (In-person or Virtual) (4 credits)
- Dissertation Writing phase with Advisor (36 credits)
The Path to an MA/PhD in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care
To earn an MA/PhD in Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Care, students must complete the following:

Admissions Criteria
- Applicant must be 18 years or older.
- Applicant must have obtained the educational degree prior to the one they are applying for (e.g. a bachelor's or equivalent to pursue an MA; a master's or equivalent to pursue a PhD; at least a bachelor's or equivalent to pursue an MA/PhD).
- Applicant must be beyond beginner fluency in written and spoken English.
- Applicant must be willing to participate in a small group learning container.
- Applicant must demonstrate maturity and readiness to engage with course content, discussions, and assignments.
- Applicant must commit to the training's shared agreements, including ethical and respectful professional conduct.
- Enrollment is contingent upon the return of a signed Training Service Agreement.
- There is no fee to apply for The Synthesis Institute's programming.

Application Process
1. Complete and submit your application for the Psychedelic Practitioner Core Training and schedule your required Admissions Call.
2. Upon successful completion of your Admissions Call, you will be guided through the next steps relevant to your chosen pathway:

Track 1 students will be invited to complete our Health Screening process for an Immersion retreat.

Track 2 students will be directed to enroll in the Colorado-specific module.
3. After successful completion of your admissions, you will receive access to complete your registration with Ubiquity University.
