Many people who become interested in psychedelic practice arrive at a crossroads in their professional lives. A personal experience of non-ordinary states, or of supporting someone close to them, can raise questions about the work they want to do and the contribution they want to make. For Simon Yugler, the path into this field involved a career change from experiential education and international guiding into psychotherapy and psychedelic practice. Personal experience can awaken the wish to guide others. Readiness to accompany another person asks for preparation, self-inquiry, and an understanding of professional responsibility. How does a person recognize the limits of their own experience, and what helps them develop the judgment required to accompany others? For those considering a career change, these questions also carry practical weight: where the work could take place, what responsibilities it carries, and what preparation each setting requires. If this conversation speaks to you, registration is complimentary.
