Synthesis Circle Shared Agreements

Welcome to Synthesis Circle!

Mission Statement: We are a dynamic, intentional, and international community committed to the advancement of safe, affordable and legal access to psychedelics, safeguarding a synthesis of different ways of working with these potentially transformative substances - ranging from clinical and therapeutic approaches to the contemplative and wisdom traditions. The five core values of the Synthesis Institute are: Collaboration, Transparency, Access, Sustainability, and Inclusivity.
These values are reflected in how we would like to communicate with one another. For example, we ask of and expect from everyone to communicate in a respectful and interested manner. Moreover, we are guided by a curiosity for perspectives other than our own. We share our perspectives, ideas and methods in a spirit of collaboration; exploring and experimenting with the various ways of doing this work. We encourage you to read the ‘community standards’ for more detailed expression of our shared values and we invite you to sit with these and adhere to them while on our community platform.

Access to Materials, Copyright, and Intellectual Property Agreements: For the sake of people’s privacy and the integrity of this work, please do not share your login information to the community with others. Your access to and use of materials posted in the community, including any posts inside of discussion threads, videos, audios, downloadable transcripts and handouts, is intended for your personal use as a registered participant in the community. Materials posted are the intellectual property of Synthesis Institute, unless otherwise officially credited to another source, and are subject to copyright laws.

Community Standards: For the purposes of maintaining an ethical and generative container of interaction for the advancement of shared learning about psychedelics, we ask that you refrain from advice-giving and/or colluding over shared stories of victimization. In response to one another's' shares, we invite comments that reflect what inspired, empowered or otherwise created openings, insights or breakthroughs in our shared learning or understanding.

Any abusive, defamatory, or derogatory phrases based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religious or political beliefs, disabilities, ethnicity, nationality, etc., directed against another person in the community will not be tolerated.

Responsible for Self Care: If at any time you are experiencing emotional distress or symptoms of trauma, we ask that you be responsible for your self-care and seek the help of a professional (eg. therapist or mental health counselor) who is trained in mental health and/or trauma recovery to support you.

No Solicitation or Spam: I agree to refrain from using the community as a place to network or market the services or products of myself or others. I commit to using the dedicated networking & resources discussion thread for this purpose.

Ethics & Diversity: We are committed to diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and advocating for prosocial change and leadership. It is our mission to increase access to our services and, more specifically, to ensure that the next generation of psychedelic therapists, guides and practitioners accurately reflect the diversity of society at large. We are continuing to develop ways to nurture diversity in the field of psychedelics, expand access to and include those who have historically been under-represented, oppressed and disenfranchised.

English as Primary Language: We are a global community of individuals that speak a variety of languages, and have chosen English to be our primary language for the Synthesis Circle. We are committed to language diversity and will create shared language spaces as smaller circles within the community.

If we notice someone engaging in behavior outside of our community shared agreements,  we reserve the right to remove them from our community.
